NSDC Support for IPSC:

NSDC is a first-of-its-kind Public Private Partnership (PPP) in India set up to facilitate the development and upgrading of the skills of the growing Indian workforce through skill training programs. A large part of the organisation's efforts are directed at the private sector and towards developing the skills in the unorganised sector in India. NSDC supports skill development efforts, especially in the unorganised sector in India by funding skill training and development programmes. It also engages in advocacy and training programmes, in-depth research to discover skill gaps in the Indian workforce, and developing accreditation norms. To know more, click here.

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), co-promoted by the finance ministry with the mandate to involve the private sector in training 500 million people by 2022, is planning to set up 28 Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) across verticals.

NSDC has already incorporated sector skills councils in automotive, energy, retail, private security, media, entertainment and animation, IT and ITeS, plumbing and more. The function of NSDC is to support the funding requirement of SSC and represent in project implementation. Each SSC has its own governing body. One such Skills Development Council is the Indian Plumbing Skills Council (IPSC). IPSC is the SSC partner for the execution of the skills building plans for the plumbing industry in India.

Dear All,

The Udaan team is glad to bring to you the 9th edition of its Newsletter.

During the month of March 2014, Udaan achieved  ~8000 selections and 4,318 mark of  candidates  being trained under this initiative.

Through this newsletter, we provide an insight into the Udaan spreading its wings through the various Information Seminars held across Jammu and Kashmir to strengthen the on ground advocacy of Udaan. Further, Udaan team visited training centers across India to interact with candidates.

Apollo Technical Education Foundation (ATEF), one of our partners held a graduation ceremony function to celebrate the success of the all Women batch being trained in at Artemis Hospital Gurgaon.
