D S Sachdev,Former Director General, CPWD

After successfully leading Central Public Works Department with 45000 strong manpower comprising of Engineers, Architects, Horticulturists, skilled & unskilled workers & Administrative staff from 01.02.2009 to 31.07.2009, Mr. Sachdev was engaged as Advisor Common Wealth Games in Public Works Department of Govt. of Delhi for upgradation of urban roads and providing necessary civic infrastructure on footpaths.

He was assigned with the task of advising all the Civic & Public Work Agencies in Delhi on Street Scaping which involves provision of pedestrian friendly footpaths, underground ducts for various services, non-motorized vehicle lanes & disable friendly access paths along the footpaths & across roads as well at intersections/T-junctions & other critical locations, road signage & street Furniture viz public toilets, dustbins, vending kiosks, benches, foot over bridges, subways, etc.

During his service career spanning from December, 1970 to July, 2009, he has been largely associated with Planning, Design and Construction of Projects involving Management of Contracts of large buildings Infra-structure projects in various sectors. He is also Chairing CED-13 Committee under Bureau of Indian Standards dealing with Building Construction Products Practices and Services for last more than 5 years.

Presently Mr. Sachdev is associated with Indian Buildings Congress and CCPS working on Executive Training Programs on Building Construction Practices and evolving Building product Guidelines for last more than two years.
