Aims & Objectives
  1. To initiate, carry out, execute, implement, aid and assist activities towards skill development in the plumbing sector and meeting the entire value chain's requirements of appropriately trained manpower in quantity and quality on a sustained and evolving basis for the entire spectrum of Plumbing Industry.
  2. To identify the needs of plumbing skill development in the Plumbing Sector including taking steps to prepare catalogue of types of skills, range and depth of skills to facilitate choice to individuals.
  3. To develop a skill development plan for the Plumbing Sector and maintain plumbing skill inventory.
  4. To determine skills/competency standards and qualifications in consonance with the PlumbingSector norms.
  5. To plan and execute "Training of Trainers" for Sector skill development.
  6. To promote academies of excellence in the Plumbing Industry Spectrum.
  7. To establish a well structured Plumbing Sector specific Labour Market Information System ("LMIS") to assist planning and delivery of training.
  8. To facilitate in standardizing the affiliation and accreditation process for the Plumbing Sector.
  9. To facilitate setting up a robust and stringent certification and accreditation process for the Plumbing Sector to ensure consistency and acceptability of standards.
  10. To participate in the affiliation, accreditation, examination and certification.
  11. To coordinate participation of social partners, employers in the private sector, training providers, professional societies and NGOs / civil society groups in the process of Plumbing skill development of the PlumbingSector.
  12. To identify the Plumbing skill development needs of the Plumbing Sector, review international trends in Plumbing Sector skill development and identify Plumbing Sector skill gaps and technologies.
  13. To do and undertake the task of educational and vocational upliftment of the Plumbing Sector.
  14. To become a member of any association of any of the councils as may be required for skill development in the Plumbing Sector or any sector skill councils as and when formed by NSDC and adhere to the charter of such councils.
  15. To facilitate and assist the Appropriate Governmental Authority and NSDC in strengthening the existing vocational education system for skill development in the Plumbing Sector and to collaborate in upgrading vocational training system in the Plumbing Sector, in line with requirements to achieve global standards in manpower productivity.
